About The Hall

Whareora Hall is a welcoming community venue located at 820 Whareora Road, available for hire for meetings, functions, and social events.


The hall can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 150 people, making it ideal for both small gatherings and larger community events.
The hall features a raised stage and a range of furniture, including trestle tables, smaller square tables (approximately 1 metre), and ample chairs and benches to suit various event setups.

For catering or serving food, the kitchen is well-equipped with:
Two sinks with hot water
Two ranges
A pie warmer
Instant boiling water
A large stainless steel bench area
A limited supply of cups, plates, and cutlery
A wheelchair ramp is available at the entrance, although please note that there is currently no accessible toilet on site.

There is a parking area on the grounds, which users are encouraged to manage efficiently to make the most of available space.

The Whareora Hall Society welcomes new members. Membership is open to families living locally, and the annual fee is $25. Members enjoy discounted hire rates and help support the ongoing maintenance and operation of this valuable community asset.

Hire Conditions

The following conditions cover the hire of the Whareora Hall at 820 Whareora Road.
The hirer shall be totally responsible for any damage or deficiencies occurring to the hall or its contents and surroundings.
The hirer must advise a hall official of any deficiencies occurring in the condition of the hire; e.g. lack of power, water, etc.
The hirer must adhere to the fire regulations of the building. No nails, hooks, or constructions of any kinds are to be fixed to walls, stage, or contents.
The hirer must not exceed the maximum of 150 persons.
Gang patches and/or insignia are not allowed on the premises – hall, grounds, car park.
Music must cease by 11:59pm and the hall and grounds shall be vacated by 1.00am where the hire is an evening function.
The hall and surrounding area will be left in a clean and tidy condition (by 10am the following morning after evening hall hire).
All rubbish must be taken by the hirer.
The hirer shall be responsible for obtaining the appropriate liquor license from the appropriate authorities and informing the police of activities intended.

Breach of Contract

Failure to comply with any of these conditions listed above will result in forfeiture of the bond and, if deemed necessary by the committee, the hirer shall be liable for any additional charges involved in restoring the building or its contents to a clean and satisfactory state.
